On the evening of October 12th, 2019, deputies assigned to Santa Clara Valley Sheriff's Station responded to a backup call requested in the area of Acacia Street in Seville, involving a potentially armed suspect. Upon arrival, the deputies were fired upon by one of two vehicles, a 1993 Mazda Sentia and a 1995 Range Rover. Both vehicles had four suspects occupying them.
Both suspect vehicles fled the scene, the Mazda was stopped on Terminal Way. All four suspects exited the vehicle and fired upon deputies. At this time the second suspect vehicle, the Range Rover; returned and also fired upon deputies. Deputies returned fire with the suspects, in which seven were fatally wounded and pronounced dead on the scene, an eighth suspect was transported to a local hospital where they were later pronounced dead.
Two deputies involved in the shooting were transported to a local hospital for life-threatening injuries. Both are stable and recovering.
Santa Clara Valley Sheriff's Station provides policing services for a large swath of the western side of Los Santos County, spanning from Flint Range to Little Mexico. It is located on Little John Road at the intersection with Santa Clara Road, and is composed of almost 100 sworn and professional staff under the command of Captain Aiden Walton.
