LIEUTENANT MASON HOWARD
PROMOTED TO CAPTAIN
(by Charles Sakagut)
18 November, 2020
Mason Howard has been assigned to the Emergency Services Detail (ESD) for the majority of his career, detail that guided him in achieving remarkable results in the Department. He has now been officially promoted to Captain, and will maintain his leadership role as the Commander for Emergency Services.
CAPTAIN MASON HOWARD
Captain Howard is part of a long line of family who served in law enforcement and particularly in the Sheriff's department. Howard had taken the same walk as his father and chose a career within the Sheriff's department. His dad died in an MVA as an on-duty deputy responding to a call for service when he was 11 years old. Years later, Mason Howard graduated from Academy class 60, a fully-fledged Deputy just like his father.
Howard spent his first months on the Department as a Deputy at Men’s Central Jail as his Custody Assignment before transferring to East Los Santos Sheriff's Station as a Patrol Deputy. During his time as Patrol Deputy, he had completed his Field Training Program and served in the field for a year before enrolling into the Tactical Support Team and Special Weapons.
After years of hard work as a Patrol Deputy, Howard had returned to ELS station after a short break due to his graduation from the Basic Sergeant Supervisory School. One year later, Howard had dived back into Special Weapons, this time, as a supervisor. At the time of his assignment on Special Weapons, Howard adopted control of the emergency services detail in late 2005. Furthermore, Howard is specialized in rescue operations and taken part in over 1500 operations with ESD. After Howard's long haul on the uniform, he had achieved the rank of Lieutenant within the Special Enforcement Bureau. The variety of skills Howard had acquired as a specialist are unending, being SWT scout and operator, trained in bomb disposal, ordinance, long-range marksmanship, and counter-terrorism operations.
Captain Mason Howard lives in the great riverside of Palomino Creek, being the proud father of two beautiful children. We wish him the best of luck in his new assignment as well as a continuous and successful career!
